Vietnam to provide new hospitals for Huaphan, Xieng Khuang
Huaphan and Xieng Khuang provinces will soon have much-needed modern hospitals funded by the Vietnamese government. Deputy Director of the Planning and Investment Department in Huaphan province, Mr Mayleuy Phimmasone, told Vientiane Times the Vietnamese government had agreed to grant an estimated US$24 million to build a hospital in Xamneua district. The project is currently in the preparation stage and is expected to be submitted to the government this week for final approval before any construction can begin, Mr Mayleuy said. Vietnam would officially approve a grant of US$24 million after the project is approved by the government, with approval scheduled for the end of this month.
